Gary Cohen was recruited by  Marcus & Millichap in 2014 to open up a Ventura/Santa Barbara County office.  He is a seasoned real estate professional, accumulating more than 30 years of experience with first class firms in the industry, including tenure at CBRE, Grubb & Ellis, and Arden Realty. Gary brings a broad spectrum of expertise, market knowledge, and attention to detail to assist his clients through all aspects of commercial real estate ownership, acquisition, disposition, leasing, and management activities-always focused on adding value for his clients.
He has worked in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings, managing real estate portfolios and teams of real estate professionals, analyzing financial performance, and executing redevelopment, revitalization, and lease-up strategies in urban and suburban markets throughout the LA North region, in addition to handling specific assignments for private clients.

Bentley McKean is a Commercial Real Estate Investment Advisor with an emphasis in Office and Industrial properties in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. He is committed to the highest standard of integrity, transparency and professionalism. Bentley and his team advise clients with a long-term perspective and seek to build relationships that endure well beyond the completion of any specific transaction. Through the Marcus & Millichap nationwide platform, Bentley represents Southern California-based clients on the acquisition, disposition and financing of industrial and office properties all over the United States. Bentley is well versed in the 1031 Exchange, Sale Leaseback, and is able to provide detailed Investment Analysis's. 

Being a Ventura County Native, he grew up playing football and enjoying Ventura’s pristine beaches. In high school he started his own kettle corn business named “Krazy Korn”, and at age 17 took an interest in investing his money in the stock market. With his background as an entrepreneur and investor, commercial real estate brokerage suites him well. He attended Ventura College to receive an AA in Economics and continues to learn everyday through diligent self-education. When not in the office you'll most often find him on his sailboat, with his nose in a book, or being active outside.

Nolan Tooley

ASSOCIATE

Nolan Tooley joined Marcus & Millichap in 2020 as a full-time commercial investment sales specialist. As part of the Cohen | DeBuiser Team, he excels in building long lasting relationships with his clients and understanding his clients’ investment objectives and making them his priority. He utilizes his focused determination, ambitious work ethic and sales skills to achieve his client’s goals. Nolan guides and advises his client investors to achieve their goals by developing and executing strategic plans for increasing their returns on their investments. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Nolan’s extensive knowledge of the marketplace allows him to be able to develop investment strategies that utilize his strong understanding of the local properties, investors and access to capital.

Nolan attended University of California Davis on a football scholarship. He currently resides in Santa Barbara. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, Nolan enjoys all that Santa Barbara has to offer. In his free time you can find him dirtbiking, hiking or watching sports.

James joined Marcus & Millichap’s Ventura Office in 2014 as an Investment Sales Associate with an emphasis on Office and Industrial properties in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. He works closely with numerous institutions, REITS, Private Equity Funds, Public & Private Companies, Private Investors and Developers. He focuses on executing the sale of his clients’ assets throughout Southern California using his combination of extensive market knowledge, a detailed and aggressive marketing plan, and the ability to negotiate on his clients’ behalf. His clients can expect a persistent commitment to achieve the best terms, a timely sale, and to net the greatest yield possible. With the current shift in the market, he credits his continued success on his active private investor database which continues to grow daily and his consistent self-education. He enjoys educating investors on the variation of investments and understands the complexities of the financial model process which is important to many investors currently active in the market.

Before graduating with business degrees in both Real Estate and Finance from California State University Sacramento, James began his career in real estate by opening a residential investment company in Northern California. His early background in real estate helped build a strong fundamental foundation for the sale of investments.

 In his free time, James enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, golf,  and fly fishing with his wife, friends and family.

Erica Binns

Marketing Manager & licensed assistant

Erica joined the Cohen | DeBuiser Team with a diverse background in real estate. She learned the ropes as a licensed assistant to a top producing residential agent and continued to hone her skills as an office manager for the largest residential brokerage in Ventura County. She then moved to the property management division where she focused on marketing investment properties in the Ventura County beach area. Her fascination with investments led her to pursue a career in investment real estate and marketing. Her experience managing the marketing process for 100+ vacation rentals allowed allowed her to develop her project management and analytical skills. She currently spearheads the teams marketing endeavors including custom property websites, artfully constructed OM’s and strategically planned e-blasts.

She attended California State University Channel Islands with a focus on Sociology. She now calls Thousand Oaks her home, but enjoys time spent at her investment in Silverstrand beach paddle boarding, boating, and working on her duplex.

Erika Kirby

Brokerage Administrator & Transaction Coordinator

Erika graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science in Public Management, and a Minor in Eastern European Studies. Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Erika interned with Leonis Adobe Museum in Calabasas, CA, and WonderLab Museum of Science, Health, Technology in Bloomington, IN. Erika joined Marcus & Millichap in 2015 as the office's Brokerage Administrator.  Her charges include providing administrative support to all agents and ensuring that the Ventura Marcus & Millichap office runs efficiently. 

Erika enjoys getting swole, people watching, and being a sane cat lady.
